Russia's leading pay-TV operator Tricolor has reached a last-minute agreement with Red Media.
| As a result, it will continue to broadcast TV channels distributed by the latter, which is a subsidiary of Gazprom Media.
| Tricolor announced last week that it would stop distributing Red Media channels as of the beginning of this month.
| Its reason for doing so was failure to reach an agreement with the copyright holder allowing for the possibility broadcasting only sports channels without paying for other thematic services.
| In a statement Tricolor says that "The adopted agreements allow us to maintain the current cost of services for viewers of Tricolor.
| "Thus, Tricolor customers will still have the opportunity to watch sports, thematic and film content offered by the Red Media TV channels".
| Red Media distributes a total of 38 thematic channels, 17 of which are proprietary
